简（艾瑞卡·达舍尔 Erica Dasher 饰）是一个对于时尚尤为敏感，在设计上独具天赋的16岁高中生，一次偶然中，她竟然因为外表成熟而被一家顶级的时装公司录取成为了设计师格蕾（安迪·麦克道威尔 Andie MacDowell 饰）的助理。一面是校园中的青葱岁月，一边是时装公司里的尔虞我诈，简就这样开始了她的双面人生。
