在开往羽越列车上，年轻男子中原朗（萩原健一饰）邂逅了美丽端庄却带着些许恐慌和拘谨的女子松宫萤子（岸惠子饰）。中原油腔滑调，甚至有些厚脸皮，在他不懈的努力下，萤子终于轻启金口，二人有了初步的言语交流。抵达羽越后，中原找到萤子，随其前往母亲的墓前祭拜。他们的交流越来越深，分别之际约定次日的12点再次相见。当第二天中原赶到约定地点时，却发现萤子已匆忙离开。在站台前，他得知萤子早先获罪入狱，此时尚非自由之身。此时的二人，已经慢慢爱上了对方…… 本片荣获1972年电影旬报十佳影片第五名；1973年每日电影最佳摄影、最佳导演和最佳剧本3项大奖。。In 1953, Mamadou Touré directed Mouramani, a film considered as the first ever made by a black French-speaking director.
